Fund raising that started in September of last year to raise money for new dog kennels reached the set goal and is moving forward. The Humane Society of the Black Hills (HSBH) Board of Directors has approved Mason Company kennels for the kennel project.
Other aspects of the project like floor sanitizing and sealing, and painting, will now be arranged to coincide with the kennel installation. The project should be under way later this summer.
“Our current kennels are showing signs of age,” Jacque Harvey, HSBH Director, said when the fund raising began. “There has been some corrosion and damage which can increase the risk for an animal to injure itself; we’re anxious to get these kennels replaced to provide a safer, less stressful, more comfortable environment for the animals.”
The Mason Company kennels with tempered glass were selected based on safety, quality, and animal comfort.
