Euthanasia

The Humane Society of the Black Hills offers low-cost personal pet euthanasia for the public.  Pet owners are not able to be with animals during the procedure but will receive, if they wish, a paw print and lock of hair from their pet.  Pet owners have the option of low-cost cremation at an additional cost after euthanasia is performed through the Humane Society of the Black Hills.  Owners may instead have their pet’s body returned or may request a communal burial.

Proof of ownership such as the animal’s medical history must be provided before the procedure will be scheduled. Costs for euthanasia vary depending on the animal’s weight but is $60 or less (before tax).

Service is Offered:

Saturday – Sunday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
