The Humane Society of the Black Hills offers low-cost personal pet euthanasia for the public.  Pet owners are not able to be with animals during the procedure but will receive, if they wish, a paw print and lock of hair from their pet.  Pet owners have the option of low-cost cremation after euthanasia is performed through the Humane Society of the Black Hills.  Owners may instead have their pet’s body returned or may request a communal burial.

Proof of ownership such as the animal’s medical history must be provided before the procedure will be scheduled. Costs vary depending on the animal’s weight but is $50 or less (before tax).
