Fall is right around the corner, but we’re not done celebrating summer just yet! It’s time for the Humane Society of the Black Hills’ 6th Annual Wags and Waves event at the Jimmy Hilton Pool.
Wags and Waves is a fan favorite and the Humane Society’s largest summer fundraiser. For two hours, pet owners, their pups, and their families and friends gather at the Jimmy Hilton pool, located at 940 Sheridan Lake Rd in Rapid City, for some fun in the sun to raise money for local animals in need. We were unable to celebrate together in person in 2020 and instead hosted a virtual Wags and Waves, but we’re excited to be back and bigger than ever for Wags and Waves 2021.
At our fourth Wags and Waves event in 2019, and with more than 400 people in attendance, we raised nearly $3,000 for the animals at the Humane Society of the Black Hills. This year, we aim to surpass that – but we need your help! Tell your coworkers, your families and friends, your neighbors, and anyone with a dog (or a soft spot for animals!) to join us Monday, September 13th from 5PM-7PM for a big splash to celebrate our furry friends. Humans get in for free, $5 donation requested for each pup. It’s the largest party for the pooches of the year, and you won’t want to miss it.
