DESCRIPTION:Join Game\, Fish\, and Parks and the Humane Society of the Black Hills on a new\, monthly summer adventure: Hiking With Shelter Dogs! \nThe first Friday of every month during the summer of 2021 (excluding August)\, canine companions and staff from the Humane Society of the Black Hills will be joining friends from Custer State Park and fellow hiking enthusiasts on the George S. Mickelson trail for a new\, exciting event.  This fun hiking opportunity will give the shelter pups extra socialization\, exercise\, and hopefully a larger chance at finding a forever home! \n \nRequirements to join: \n\nYou must pre-register for Hiking With Shelter Dogs by calling Custer State Park representatives at (605) 255-4515.\nAttendees must have a valid Mickelson Trail Pass.  (Click here for purchasing information)\nAttendees must sign a waiver at the trailhead to handle Humane Society of the Black Hills’ canines\n\n  \nCan’t attend this event?  Stay tuned\, because we’ll be back July 2nd for another great hike!

DESCRIPTION:Help us kick off a great summer of events – join us for the Humane Society of the Black Hills’ 3rd annual K93K and Dog Carnival (and don’t forget your canine companion)! \nThe fun starts at 10AM with a group 3k walk/run around the Humane Society path.  After the walk/run\, check out the booths on the Humane Society lawn.  We’ll have refreshments\, low-cost pet microchipping services\, doggie baths and a dog agility course\, information about ways you can get involved in helping local animals\, dog contests\, and opportunities to pie an Animal Services & Enforcement officer and Rapid City-City Council member in the face – all for good cause!  You and your trusted pup won’t want to miss it. \nThis event is family and dog friendly!  Registration is $10 per dog.  Pre-register and sign the fun run waiver here. \nDay of Event Schedule: \n9:30 a.m.: K93K registration/check-in. $10 per dog. (online registration available on website)\n10 a.m.: K93K fun-run and event start.\n10 to 11:30 a.m.: Tour the booths on the lawn of the Humane Society of the Black Hills!\nAttendees will enjoy: \n\nLow-cost pet microchipping. $20 per pet\, proof of pet ownership (vaccine records) and photo ID required.\nPie an Animal Services officer and Rapid City-City Council member Pat Jones for a good cause. $2 per pie!\nDog Wash by HSBH staff.
